Time to have a play

I really wanted you to start to get a feeling for how the app was going to feel.

So we have put a sample of the doodlepad online for you to play with.  If you scroll down, you will see that you can change the colours!

Click on the image on your phone and you can have fun!  Note that this will only look decent and work on a phone.  The tick button is not actually linked in with any Confoundery... just a simulation for you to play on!

The password for this page if you have lost it is: *m371U&@^c9

Website development

Steve, Carl and I have also now been working on the website design.  We are still in early stages, but this is the direction we are heading in.  We just cannot decide on the colour!

User Interface

Since the design of the app was completed Carl has now reworked all of the screens to pass onto Jason the developer.  It is all systems go and we are looking forward to being able to test the first versions of the app.

The slide show shows some of the main screen designs picking one colour scheme in the app.  Yes, you will be able to choose your colours!

Animations

Steve, Bee, Carl and I have been putting some thought to the promotion of the product.  The use of animation is, we believe, a very eye catching and interesting way to communicate different elements of the challenge that people face, the solution that forghetti presents and the process that we use...

I would welcome any ideas you have that we can develop upon.

Some examples of this are shown below.  Click on the images to see large versions.

Tone of voice - Website copy

brand-voice.jpg

Further copy has been written for the website which is now being designed.

We have now opted for Doodles, Doodlepad and the Confoundery which all site well with the brand positioning.  Some descriptive wording has now been drafted to explain what this is all about!

your signature doodle.

The only thing you’ll ever need to remember is your own personal doodle.

It’s how you activate our immensely clever password-manufactory, The Confoundery, whenever you want to access your apps.

Just decide on a pattern or shape that’s easy to remember. Have a practice on the Doodlepad to learn it by heart. And then save it.

You can draw lines and dots, letters and numbers, symbols and squiggles. Whatever’s memorable.

Your drawing speed and fingertip pressure are recorded as well. And scrambled into code that makes up a portion of your unique, super-safe, app-specific passwords.

You can save one doodle to open all your apps, to share among your family, or make a few to access different profiles if you like.

Just join the dots on the Doodlepad in a way you won’t forget, and leave forghetti to do the rest.

the Confoundery.

This is where the clever stuff happens.
Where passwords are made to confound the hackers.

The Confoundery pulls together little bits of information from your doodle, your profile, the date you linked up your Facebook account, for example.

Lots of these tasty morsels get tangled up together into one, long, mind-bogglingly intricate password.

It is made - the same every time - used and deleted, faster than you can say schupfnudel.

The Confoundery is where we make the infernally complicated, blissfully simple. So you can sit back and savour the failure of identity thieves everywhere.

Tone of voice - What is it all about?

brand-voice.jpg

There are many places were we need inspiration... the design of the website, the creation of animations for social media, you name it... Bee has been working with us to come up with some helpful and useful bodies of text that we can use, break up, or present in there entirety.

It could be backing script to an animation or video... they could be one liners which we use alongside an animation.

V1

We make fiendishly complicated passwords afresh, every time you need one.
They’re not saved, they’re not stored, so there’s nothing to steal.
Once used, they’re gone - pffft - into thin air.
Along with your need to remember them. Ever again.

V2

We all know storing passwords isn’t secure. Even super-complicated ones.
It’s far simpler - and safer - not to save them at all.
To have a supercomputer make them from scratch every time.
To access them with a quick fingertip squiggle.
And to have them disappear into thin air after each use.
So simple. So safe. So forget about it.

V3

Having to remember passwords is horrible.
That’s why we make forgetting them a good thing.
We make them fiendishly complicated.
We make them impossible to steal.
We make them fresh every time.
They’re not stored. They’re not saved.
They don’t exist until you summon them up with a fingertip squiggle.
And then they’re gone - erased, evaporated, into the blue.
Out of the reach of wrongdoers, and out of your mind for good.
There’s literally nothing to it

Trademark application

trademark_1024px.jpg

I am pleased to confirm that an EU Trade Mark Application has now been filed in the name of Z2H Limited, taking priority from your UK Trade Mark Registration No. UK00003267828.

The EU application has been allocated application no. 017867674 with a filing date of 5 March 2018.

The priority taken from the UK Trade Mark, means that the EU registration will have back dated effect to the date when the UK filing was confirmed namely 26th January 2018.

Icon development

We have now moved on a stage, finalising the style of the icons that we are using and Steve is off creating over 40 icons that are used across the app.

We will be able to use this wherever we choose and indeed think that Bee will come up with some lovely name for the icon font library that is forghetticons....

The images below show you the style that we are now committed to.

Tone of voice - Brand Language

brand-voice.jpg

Bee has been spending some time in January working on what she refers to as "ownable words" or Brand Language.  In essence these are words that we can and will use throughout the product and marketing to reflect the tone of voice of the company and also to get people into a state of forghetti mindfulness that is the result of using the forghetti product!

Some of the words/phrases we are playing with are:

forghettibles - the confoundingly complicated passwords we generate
It’s unforgettably easy.

HAND-DRAWN PASSWORD / SHAPE

shape
noodle
squiggle
(fun, expressive, related to signatures and the shape of spaghetti)
bamboozler - what it does to the hackers, fun and memorable
doodle - doing your Doodle is a doddle
twine (spaghetti translated means little twine)

THE WASHING MACHINE

the passatutto - into the passatutto! A masher - literally, the mash-it-all-upper - suggests passwords too
the extruder (from spaghetti factory, sounds like it means business and focuses on what comes out too)
the muddler (interesting comparison with remembering / confusing the hackers)
the befuddler - like a muddler with a forgehetti f,
the confoundery - a place where things are made to confound hackers
the forghe - a forghettized forge, but doesn’t read well
the perplexitron
the forghettitron 3000
the forghettimatic
the blender
il frullatore - the blender
la frusta - the whisk
the mill (as in pasta mill, but perhaps a bit obscure and just makes you think of flour mills)

CTAS & PHRASES

ready to get rolling?
coming to the boil now

We are…

preparing
concocting
simmering

if the thought of online security makes you blanch… / makes your mind boil over

now we’re cooking
hang on, we’ve overcooked it - let’s try again.
ciao
grazi
bravo / brava
doesn’t need to be a fiasco
thanks for your feedback, we’ll get onto it pronto

schupfnudel - don’t get schupfnudeled by password panic
a load of old bolognese
a load of old meatballs
bit of a mouthful
hey pesto, we’re done!

Other noodles

 ramen
vermicelli
macaroni
soba
udon
chow mein

 pad thai
pho
strozzapreti - preist stranglers!
tagliatelle
fettuccini
linguini

Developer progress

jason.jpeg

Carl and I met with Jason last week and I am pleased to say that he is making progress... working through the details of the over 80 screens that make up the App.  Ridiculous really that something so simple has so many different screens, but we do have to cover for all users and needs.

He is now waiting on us to provide him with the updated work flow and designs so that he can get stuck in 100%.

Due to the frustrations of the designer, we are a little behind, but I hope to be able to be full steam ahead again in about 1 weeks time.

Colours

Interestingly I am not sure that any of you really "loved" the colours that I posted earlier... I am not sure either that we did...

That said, I think it is a very personal thing... after all, we do not all want to drive a black Ford.

So we have at the same time as reviewing the colours altogether, decided to enable the user to be able to select their own choice of initially Dark theme / Light theme, but then also to select from 5 chosen accent colours.

See the images below to have an idea of what the colours are, but also what they would look like in the app itself.

NOTE the dark colour is not black, but a dark blue...

App and Web Icons

We are looking at all the elements of the marketing and app design that make the product feel accessible, digestible and you could say that encourage people to want to feel that this is a product that they love and want to have supporting them forever.

One can argue the merits of different choices, but we believe that the subtle niceties are the points of difference that will help to make this a product people love rather than a utility that they might discard for a different model at any given time.

So we are exploring custom icons to use throughout the product and marketing.  The two pictures below show how standard icons compare with custom equivalents...

We are nearly there and hope to develop all of the required icons before the mid/end of next week.

Font review

We have with the taking on of Steve embarked on a review of everything done to date... and without any delay we have selected a new font that we can use across the App, but also most importantly across all marketing, websites etc...

The font is called "Nunito" and to give you a sample of what it looks like just click on this image below.  I think you will agree is has a very easy to read, clean look to it.

Branding polish

The forghetti branding is something that is already part of our DNA... and we all love it...

However, the devil is in the detail, and with a focus on the detail, Steve has made a couple of updates, which whilst minimal, do I believe perfect the already perfect!

The official logo is now shown here:

tightened-branding.png

The smile is certainly wider both at the end of the name, but also on our faces!
